Founded in 2018, VAL Atelier is a Hyderabad-based architecture and interior design studio creating thoughtful, contemporary spaces that balance aesthetics, functionality, and a sense of belonging.
With over 50 projects spanning private residences, luxury villas, hospitality spaces, retail environments, and commercial interiors, our portfolio reflects a diverse and evolving design practice.

02Do you take up turnkey projects?
We follow a design-led approach rather than a turnkey model. Our team develops the complete design and technical documentation required for execution, following which an independent contractor is appointed to carry out the work.
We remain closely involved throughout execution, overseeing design implementation, coordinating with vendors, reviewing BOQs, and cross-checking contractor quotations and budgets to ensure alignment with the design intent.
03How do luxury interior designers charge in India?
Interior design studios follow different fee structures, including a percentage of the project cost, a combination of fixed fees and percentage-based charges, or a fixed design fee.
At VAL, we believe in complete transparency. We charge a fixed design fee, agreed upon at the beginning of the project, without percentage-based commissions on execution costs or vendor purchases.
04What is the minimum project size you undertake?
We typically take on projects of 5,000 sq. ft. and above.
Smaller projects may be considered, provided they meet our minimum design fee equivalent to a 5,000 sq. ft. project.
We focus on designing complete spaces rather than individual rooms.
05What is the typical budget for a VAL project?
Our design fee is independent of the project’s execution budget.
As a general guide, execution costs for our projects typically range from ₹4,500 to ₹15,000+ per sq. ft., depending on the materials, finishes, level of customisation, and overall scope.
06How long does a project take?
Timelines vary depending on the project’s scale and complexity.

10Do you help with furniture, décor, and final styling?
Yes. We believe the finishing details are an essential part of creating a complete space.
Towards the end of the project, we curate a detailed styling list covering furniture, décor, accessories, and other finishing elements, along with sourcing links.
Clients may purchase these independently or choose to have our team assist with procurement and final styling.
